Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a mental health condition that causes people to feel excessive and persistent worry about everyday things:

People with GAD may experience:

    • Physical symptoms like pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, headaches, muscle aches, stomachaches, or unexplained pains
      • Difficulty controlling their worries
      • Irritability or feeling "on edge"
      • Sweating a lot, feeling lightheaded, or feeling out of breath
      • Difficulty concentrating
      • Restlessness when awake
      • Muscle tension
      • Upset stomach
      • Difficulty sleeping
      • Being easily startled
