Panic disorder
Panic attack is a sudden and repeated episodes of intense fear and anxiety that occur without warning
- Physical symptoms are pounding or racing heart, sweating, trembling, difficulty breathing, chest pain, stomach pain or nausea, dizziness, and feelings of choking
- Mental symptoms are feelings of being out of control, fear of death or impending doom, fear of losing control or "going crazy", and derealization or depersonalization
- Avoidance is avoiding places where panic attacks have occurred in the past, or avoiding travel, malls, line-ups, or strenuous activities
- Worry: an intense worry about when the next panic attack will happen, or continuous worry or concern about having further attacks for at least one month
